I have white wood blinds in my kitchen and as you know anything in the kitchen is hard to clean because of the grease factor. Not just dusty but sticky and dusty. I tried all kinds of cleaners and nothing was budging the build up on these wood blinds. Then I remembered how well Rubbing Alcohol worked on other cleaning projects in the kitchen so I gave it a shot and wow it worked like magic. Here is how I did it. Take an old tube sock and lightly dampen, then just keep the bottle of alcohol nearby and keep dabbing the sock with it, rotating the sock as it gets dirty. This works great on gripping the blinds. When the sock is dirty just rinse out real well with hot water and ring out well to continue. The alcohol cuts the grease and now my blinds are sparkling clean.

What a great idea! I'm sure that it works like a charm. I've been making my own glass cleaner with rubbing alcohol, and it works so much better than any commercial brand....hands down!
Have a great week :)
Shoot! I was hoping to just buy new blinds. Seriously, I can't tell you the last time I cleaned mine, gross huh? Thanks so much for this tip. Will try it later today!
I have never heard about rubbing alcohol being a cleaning product. That is great. Blinds are a pain to clean, but I love how they look!
I have used rubbing alcohol for years...it makes a great glass cleaner. I also love the Mr. Clean Magic erasers...they clean everything!
Ok, I've been avoiding cleaning the blinds! (Keep hopping on the darn computer) But now I'll have to give this a try. If it's quick and easy, I'll do it! Thanks for the tip.

Wonder if this would work on brown wood blinds without taking off the finish.
I am trying that on my old plastic blinds also to see if it works
ohh, great idea. I have the white wood blinds as well. I had been using Windex but will try the alcohol now. Thanks :-)
Ok, so I did it. Let me tell all you people commenting, it really does work. She wasn't lying, at all! Super clean and streak free. I think I love her.
Holly you are awesome. I wouldn't lie to you girl!
Ugh!!! I hate this chore, but I appreciate this tip!
I'm so glad you shared this. I'm forever trying to keep these clean. A sock and rubbing alcohol, who'd of thunk? :-)
Blessings,
Marcia
