Rising Cotton Prices

I have been hearing that cotton goods would be going way up as a result in low crop yields throughout the world. Clothing has been rising and here is what the consumerist says about other cotton linens:

Because these sheets, towels and other home goods are already on store shelves, they won't be immediately affected by 2011 price increases. Don't wait too long, though because late spring and summer stock hitting shelves are likely to be priced higher.

I have been really needing to stock up on towels for our house so Kohl's is where I headed. They are having their white sale and spend $50 get $10 in  Kohl's cash. I picked up dish towels. Red and white of course.

If you like to wash your face with a good old washcloth like I do, these little cheapies are the best. You find them in stacks tied all up. You can find them at Target I know as well. They are the best to exfoliate my skin. As for bath towels, this family will now only use white towels. With all the bleach marks from acne medicines the girls use and my desire to bleach the towels, white is now the only color of bath towel I will buy. We ruin towels within a few washings so this is just a must over here. I will save the cute hand towels for guests.

I'm with you. I like a nice, thin, kinda rough washcloth. I get mine in a bundle at Walmart. Lucky you to find your monogram.

I only buy white towels now. I have pretty ones that match the bathrooms, but we don't use them!! White is totally the way to go!

Oh, I do love cotton goodes. Those red & white kitchen linens are gorgeous! And nothing is better than a fluffy, white cotton towel to dry off with. No linen shopping in my near future...hopefully I have plenty to ride this market out :)

Blessings!

Hi! I saw your link on Be Different Act Normal. This is such a random question but I bought white towels day after Thanksgiving and haven't used them yet because I don't want them to start looking dirty. How do you bleach them, I am an idiot and have NO idea how to use bleach!!! :)
